consideration of the problems which will arise

immediately on the reoccupation of Hong Kong and

Malaya. The Committee will accordingly be invited

to submit any recommendations that it may so desire

as to the future of these institutions.

3. The Colonial Higher Education Commission

will be kept informed of the conclusions of the

Committee and will thus be enabled, if it so wishes,

to take account of them in its general report. In

this connection I am to inform you that Professor

Channon has agreed to serve on the proposed ad hoc

Committee.
